Happy Friendly Friday!

We have started our Autumn topic this week and Mrs Allen has been sharing lots of her Autumn ideas out in Forest School! She has taught you how to make an Autumn crown, an Autumn bracelet and today you had fun making some Autumn clay plates. The outdoor chalks also made an appearance and you have used these for a Hopscotch game and to create some wonderful artwork on the patio area. We have seen lots of Kringeli Krangeli patterns, letters from your name and a rocket courtesy of Charlie! A favourite game made a return “1, 2, 3 Where Are You?”. We really need to work on your hiding skills but nevertheless you had a lot of fun finding each other in Forest School.

In the cabin we have been playing our Listening Game “A Good Listener is looking at the person talking”. This week the game you picked up so well was “Who Feels Different?”. We used our own “Happy” to hide in someone’s lap and ONLY that person could smile. The person guessing had to take a good look at all of your faces to work out where Happy was! In Phonics “Mrs Mander had a bag” was a great song/game as you had to listen to the sound made by the items in my bag! Can you remember any objects in the bag? Do you think your grown ups might have the same items that make the same sound? In Maths we have been learning about the number 4. As always, we looked at the pattern of Egg Box Four and discovered that Numicon Four and Dice Four is the same. Well done Teddy who kept spotting the Dice Four pattern everywhere and thank you Ben for sharing all four of your names with us. Our Nursery Rhyme “Rain Rain Go Away” was an easy one this week as it was so short with only eight words. We had fun replacing the weather symbol and changing the lyrics. I am not sure we would ever sing “Sun Sun Go Away” but some of you chose it. We always finish our day with our Write Dance circle time. You enjoyed drawing some Kringeli Krangeli patterns in time to the music this week in shaving foam, textured paper and on chalk boards. You are really improving with your dance moving in time to the slow and fast music.

We have practised daily our circle time sessions around the fire circle and learnt all about the safety elements of how we come to and leave the fire circle, so we are now ready for a Mrs Allen fire!! Get those chopping skills ready next week as we are going to be making our own soup and cooking it on the fire pit!
