Another week has passed as quickly as that wind on Friday!
We have continued our Autumn topic this week with our very first fire on Tuesday when Mrs Allen showed you how to build, start and stay safe around the fire. We have enjoyed some fire-based activities in the circle, sharing the story of Pumpkin Soup. Mrs Allen made the story come to life with outdoor role play from the characters in the story. We have also helped to prepare the vegetables for some of our very own soup and on Friday we all enjoyed sitting around the fire, eating the warm soup.
In the cabin we are making our Listening Games more challenging by hiding children under the blanket and seeing who can spot who is missing by just looking at the slippers. In Phonics we have been playing sound animal lotto and our Nursery Rhyme “Incy Wincy Spider” has had us role playing other objects beginning with /s/ to climb up the water spout. I wonder if you can remember which objects they were? In Maths we have been spotting shapes in the cabin and in Forest School you enjoyed playing with the magnetic shapes to create patterns. In Write Dance we have moved on to a new song of Pat-a-Cake and we have been circling our arms, shoulders and bodies in time to the music.
Next week we will be moving back onto more number work in Maths. If you have collected any conkers, chestnuts or acorns over the past few Autumn weeks, please bring them in to help us play and explore with the number five.
