Welcome back!

Hello to all of Green Class!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Summer Holiday and are refreshed and ready for the new school year. All the teachers are very busy at the moment geting the school ready for all the exciting learning that is going to happen this year.

We are starting the year with our 'Great Fire of London' topic and doing lots of practical and fun work to answer all those questions you decided you would like to find out about when I met with you on our afternoon together. If you have any time over the next few days it would be great if you could do some research about the Great Fire of London and be able to share a fantastic fact with us on our first day back.

We are lucky to have lots of grown ups in our classroom this year who are ...

Topic News

I cannot believe we are here already but yes this is the final half term of the school year! We will be kicking off the half term with an action packed 'sporting stars' topic. We will be looking at stars from a variety of sports both past and present and will be using books and the internet to research and create a profile of them. Over the holiday have a think about what sport or sporting star you might like to find out about and we can share ideas when we return to school. If you have been on any visits to sporting grounds or events we would love to see any photos or memorabilia you may have.

Don't forgot to come in sports wear and trainers on the first day back as we will be having an action packed sporting day! Keep up with your brilliant reading over half term and enjoy your week.

From tiny seeds.......

Well done to all of Green Class for their fantastic contributions to the school art gallery. Throughout the topic children worked hard and were enthusiastic about learning about famous artists.

Our new topic for the remainder of the half term is ‘Growth’. We will be looking at health and the growth of ourselves and plants. We have already planted seeds and have put them in some very strange places to test which conditions plants grow best in. We are keeping a close eye on them and creating a cress diary.

All of our work will be leading up to a whole school picnic where we will hopefully be able to eat some of the food we will have made or grown.

Keep up the hard work Green Class!

Miss Sims, Mrs. Cripps and Mrs. Stafford
