The Arts

the Arts, music and drama at Blackwell First School...We were astounded and delighted  with the musicality and knowledge of all the year groups. Although I have to admit we were particularly impressed with Year 1...we are all experienced teachers and workshop leaders and none of us had ever come across a group with such wonderful pulse and rhythm!  The exercises we did with them as a warm up are ones we have each tried with older children including Year 5 and 6 and we have never experienced such understanding and accuracy... (Midland Sinfonia workshop leader comment)

Developing children’s cultural awareness is an important part of life at Blackwell.

Music, art, drama and wider cultural experiences add to the rich curriculum on offer. We have been awarded the Gold Artsmark to celebrate the excellent arts work at our school.

...our daughter is thriving , her talents have been recognised and supported...  (Parent comment)
